As for me, I prefer a monthly subscription to a standalone license. I don't want to own software which needs to change and update on a regular basis and become obsolete no matter what anyway. And those who complain about $36/year have not run a business and built a piece of software at this level no matter what they say otherwise. They can always use a spreadsheet file stored as an encrypted file for free. Life is all about trade-offs.
