Select driver to download. I have no idea what I should download to make the keyboard work. The keyboard is 10 years old and the macbook is 6 years old. The software installation CD is.

New operating systems add amazing new features and security to our world but that can often come at the cost of compatibility with our current software and drivers, many of which are vital pieces to a studio or DJ setup. While software and hardware drivers can be updated to account for the changes in a new operating system, this is not always immediate. To prevent any downtime waiting for an update, it's much easier check the compatibility of your gear before making the jump. This article is a list of all macOS High Sierra and iOS 11 compatible M-Audio hardware and software, as well as what you'll need to know before updating.

Is my product supported? We're happy to tell you that most M-Audio products are already supported on macOS High Sierra without any need for additional driver or firmware updates. If you haven't already, check our list of supported and products below to make sure your M-Audio product is ready for the update to High Sierra.

Apple's new OS includes new security features that require the user to allow a system extension when installing a new driver. This is very simple and only needs to be done once for each driver.

So, if you're installing any new driver on macOS High Sierra, look out for the following pop-up message and check out the for instructions. The good news is that this is only necessary if you are installing a new driver. If you are updating to High Sierra and already have the latest driver for your device installed, you will not need to re-install the driver or complete these steps. While your M-Audio products are ready for macOS High Sierra, that doesn't mean everybody is. If you use one of our products with a third-party software title like Ableton or Cubase, be sure to check with the developer to confirm support for the new OS before updating.

Just bought Reason Essentials 8.2 and I am trying to get it to recognize my M-Audio KeyStudio keyboard with no luck. It's not auto-detected and it's not listed in the keyboards list when I try to add it manually. I'm actually not sure if it's a Keystudio49 or 49i (it does have 49 keys.) Just to be sure I'm not doing something stupid, I connected the KeyStudio via USB to my laptop. This is correct, yes?

There are no midi ins/outs on the KeyStudio. Can anyone suggest a way to test that it's not just a Reason Essentials compatibility issue? Is there an app I can connect it to easily to test maybe? Hello Chris, Thanks for posting. The Keystudio 49i has audio inputs and outputs on it.

The Keystudio 49 (without the 'i') does not and is just a USB MIDI controller. You can test that the Keystudio is working properly in a simple and free program called MIDI Monitor: Mac: Open MIDI Monitor with all other programs closed.

In the 'Sources' section, check the boxes for your controller's ports. Now MIDI Monitor will list all incoming MIDI Messages. This will help confirm if the controller itself is responding properly. Reason does not require you to add a 'Control Surface' for simple keyboards to work. As far as I know, it is mostly plug and play to just play the instruments in Reason. Here's a guide that goes into a bit more detail: Let me know if this helps.

Midi Monitor is the one I was trying to remember. However, I connected my KeyStudio to the USB port on my laptop, closed everything but email, and opened MidiMonitor. Under the Sources drop-down, it only lists my M-Track Plus. The keyboard is on (blue power light is on). Hitting keys and fader does nothing in the activity pane. Guessing this means my keyboard is defective/broken.

Sadly, it's out of warranty and was hardly used at all. Any thoughts? Thanks for your quick reply. Midi Monitor is the one I was trying to remember.

V1 needs a driver, while V2 does not: V1: Here's that driver, which supports up to OS X 10.8.5 (it's a bit old): V2: It is starting to look like a hardware issue, but it would always be best to test on another computer.

That's kind of the ultimate way to be sure. I'm not sure what service options are still available for the Keystudios, but the tech support team will know for sure if you wanted to call/email them: USA & Canada Phone: 401-658-5765 Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30AM - 6:30PM EST Germany Phone: +49-2154-81299-20 Hours: Monday - Friday 9:00AM - 5:00PM CET UK/Europe Phone: 44(0)1252-896040 Hours: Monday - Friday 9:00AM - 6:00PM BST Brazil Phone: +5511 - 3222-6476 Hours: Monday - Friday 9:00AM - 6:00PM BRT Email International Distributors.
